Sonya Haramis is a spiritual storyteller. "I've been blessed with this gift," she says. In her new book Gracious Gifts...Expressions of the Divine, Sonya shares her gift with the world.

"I've always felt close to Spirit, but kept these writings private until this book," Sonya explains. Gracious Gifts began as personal meditations. She never intended to share these private meditations and writings until she was led to read them to a family member, who was speechless after Sonya read them to her. Then Sonya read the same chapter to a dear friend and he was speechless. "I then realized I was supposed to share what I had written, and not keep it private," says Sonya.

Gracious Gifts has really been a labor of love for Sonya. She began compiling her meditations two years ago and the final book is the result of many edits to capture the true essence of the meditations. "A lot of prayer, meditation, and writing in the late and quiet hours of the peaceful night went into this book," she says. "I wrote the book to help heal and comfort others which is so important at this time in the world.”

Besides writing, Sonya trains in Aikido, a spiritual martial art of harmony and peace. She is now in Shodan Ho, which means intensive training preparing for her black belt.  Aikido is a peaceful, non-aggressive martial art.  "It has been called Zen in motion," she says. "Aikido is about harmonizing one’s body, mind, and spirit through training, and then sharing this harmony with the world". Her journey in Aikido mirrors her journey with her book.  "As I reach this threshold in my Aikido training, the book is reaching the same threshold as I prepare to share it with the world," Sonya says. She also enjoys traveling and spending time in nature.

Sonya is continuing her writing. She has completed The Circle of Olympians, her soon to-be-released Modern Greek myth…a spiritual adventure set in Greece and California, with metaphysical elements. This book is an homage to her Greek heritage and to Greek mythology. She is currently completing her book of spiritual short stories for children, which illustrates her belief in angels, magic, love, Heaven, and miracles for young readers. Both books will soon be available from Peace of the Dreamer.
